Kid Zone scheduled activities

Classes

Attend the appropriate age level class and earn your own solar cell and motor. You can make something that moves with the power of the sun at The RE Store booth outside.

 

10:00-10:30  Energy Matters

This is a hands-on lesson and activity for students to identify common items that use electrical energy. Following this lesson, young students will be more aware of when they are engaged in an activity that uses electricity.

 

The objective of this lesson is to introduce the concept of what energy is, and the items that use electrical energy, to prepare them to save electrical energy.

 

Grades 1 – 4, Time: 30 minutes

10:30-11:00  RE for Young Scientists

This is a hands-on lesson and activity for students to learn more about solar energy and energy conservation. Multi-media and hands-on activities.

 

Grades 4 – 6, Time: 30 minutes

11:00-11:30  Energy in Your Future
This is a hands-on lesson and activity for middle and high school students to learn more about the role that energy will play in their future. They will learn about opportunities available to participate in high school and in the community as well as training and volunteer for earning community service hours or scholarships.

 

Grades 7 – 12, Time: 30 minutes

Other scheduled activities

10:00-4:00   Cascade Elite Gymnastics Have the little ones burn some energy in the indoor contained Gymnastic area sponsored by Cascade Elite Gymnastics.

2:00  Solar Model Car Races outside Kid Zone on track. See students race the solar cars they built before the Fair.
